Musical Express is an independent local company, and as such is able to tailor the programme to suit the needs of each class.
What happens at a session?
Sessions are normally between 40 and 60 minutes (depending on the your child's age) with groups of between 10 and 15 children and their carers. Your children will be participating in active music-making; using singing, tuned and untuned percussion, rhythm games, musical stories, nursery rhymes and action songs.
Year 1 'drop-off' class
We are starting a Year 1 class for 5-6 year olds, covering musical notation, with the children learning to write and play their own compositions, as well as continuing to develop their other musical skills of tempo, dynamics, pitch, rhythym, and singing. These classes are the ideal precursor to learning an instrument.
